• • • •	Committed Artists: Setting up the recording and CD division of award-winning playwright Mbongeni Ngema’s company. Electro-Muse (PTY) Ltd: Business managing, structuring the company and facilitating recording. Meerkat is also involved in imaging, packaging and marketing this electronic all-female string quartet. Fuzigish Music cc: The challenge - to take a well-known punk group and reposition them for a more mainstream market. Buttabing Entertainment: We did the business management side of their flagship act, Skwatta Kamp’s contract negotiations with Gallo Music Group – a deal recognised as one of the most unique ever struck in the industry. We also negotiated sponsorship deals, advertising clearances and other day to day business aspects. Mmino: A series of music industry workshops to explain the inner workings of the music industry for potential musicians, managers and promoters. This course is a mixture of lectures and distance learning and is sponsored by the Norwegian government.
Music consultancy projects - short term:
• • • •	Music Producer and rights clearances for SABC1’s Woman’s Day programme. This included doing collaborative recordings with Godessa and Dorothy Masuka, Rudeboy Paul and Tamara Dey and Thandiswe and Nothembi. Music Consultant for SABC1, SABC2 and SABC3’s Heartlands drama series. Working with the producer to find the right music and then negotiating with record companies for the usage of these tracks. This included groups like Skwatta Kamp, Arno Carstens, Karen Zoid and Freshly Ground. We have done various music compilations for release on CD and DVD for record companies. This includes authoring and menu design for the DVDs and cover design for the CDs. The product includes Clubworx, Bump and some Greatest Hits. Eden: consultation on television and radio ads as well as pitches and styling.
